So, you just got your motorcycle licence, and you are already thinking about buying a bike. What do you do now? Enthusiasm is undoubtedly knocking on your door, but also all your inefficiencies, inexperience, negative feelings and insecurities are making a fair amount of noise in the back of your head. The author, being a professional riding instructor for more than 10 years, an Enduro rider and an engineer, has seen this a million times. The truth is everyone is different: Some people are adventurous, some are conservative, most are somewhere in between and you do get the occasional daredevil! The purpose of this book is to cater for most new riders, clearing things out along the way with exercises and theory and, at the same time, letting every individual pick their path; along with their weapon of choice, or, in this case, motorcycle. It is practically impossible to cover the entire subject of motorcycles in a single book, let alone in a reader-friendly guide: Except for an entire industry based on it, there are many kinds of these machines, giving birth to almost countless sports and other related activities. The author quickly realised that, due to the size of the subject, he had to organise the book in a finite number of areas – or it would become practically unreadable and hence useless. The decision is a self–restriction to less than 100 chapters or, if someone would prefer, rules – including street and dirt bikes!A few words about the authorRaxis Epitropou was born in Komotini, Greece in 1977. He studied Automotive Engineering Design in Coventry University, UK – graduated in 2001. Currently the owner of a driving school in Komotini, he spends his free time overlanding, riding Enduro motorcycles, practising Mixed Martial Arts and writing articles on offroad riding, modern self-defence & the use of firearms.Novice to Ace in record time is his third book.
