Tom Dodd con A PITCHER's VERSE: A POETIC RENDERING OF THE ULTIMATE MENTAL PITCHING PLAN FOR SOFTBALL PLAYERS (English Edition)
A plan is a method of doing something in a deliberate and well thought out manner. Having a plan allows a softball player to anticipate certain things ahead of time and be prepared for them when they occur. It is always a good idea for a player to have some sort of a plan.
A Pitcher’s Verse describes a mental pitching plan for softball pitchers in an informal, light, and poetic format. It is a poem that explains the details of what I call the ultimate mental pitching plan. The ultimate mental pitching plan starts with the pitcher having the advantage at the beginning of every at bat and keeping it by throwing pitches to hard to hit locations. When ahead in the count the pitcher should aim pitches to the corner of the plate, and when way ahead throw her best pitches just off the plate rather than throw erratic pitches she does not command well. When the pitcher falls behind in the count she should locate pitches to the half or corner of the plate, or throw change up strikes. In addition, a pitcher should always stay composed, be accountable for her mistakes, and exhibit a strong competitive spirit to win the battle against every batter.
